In electronics the Electrical filters are circuits that are designed to shape the magnitude as well as the phase spectrum of an input signal in order to generate a desired response at the output.
Therefore, we can define a frequency range as the passband where the input signal should be transmitted through the filter undistorted and unattenuated (or amplified to some extent); stopband filters require transmission to be blocked or the signal to be at least highly attenuated.
